Real-time, interactive communication

Mastek supports a open culture by allowing employees to express themselves on a wide variety of topics through Buzz At Mastek, an interactive tool on the intranet where employees can have a dialogue with one another. Mastekeers have used this tool to make their voice heard on several subjects and solve problems by chatting with other Mastekeers.

Buzz at Mastek is not restricted to the Intranet alone. The concept has been extended to the Quarterly Meeting in the form of Buzz with Leadership panel discussions, where senior leaders chat with the rest of the Mastekeers.

The initiative has received a great response from employees, and many policy decisions have been taken based on the feedback received from this tool.

Run-Time Val-You

The Run Time is a long-established institution at Mastek. This is a annual meet of Mastek where employees and their families get together , have fun and enjoy together as one big family.

Holistic development

Besides training our employees on skills and leadership, we are also focused on their holistic development. We conducted a two-day Wellness Program and covered some 96 Mastekeers along with one family member. The program looked at the overall wellness and holistic development of Mastekeers and covered diet, exercise, sleeping, stress management, etc.

Mastkeers are also encouraged to contribute to the community through Mastek Foundation . We have a payroll giving and volunteering program for Mastekeers . We support 28 NGOs in India through the Mastek Foundation.

Recognition

Last year, Mastek introduced a new system of promotions. Under this system, employees can be promoted any time during the year if they meet the eligibility criteria. What is unique about the system is that employees have been encouraged to take responsibility for their own promotions. Our employee-driven promotion system – called Anytime Promotions – was recognized in the Times of India Ascent forum as a best practice.

Performance Management System

We continue to fortify and strengthen our Performance Management system. A McKinsey study of IT companies on performance management systems rated our promotion management system as a best practice for its robustness.

Mastek’s people practices are a reflection of our core values as an organization.
