Business Frameworks |
 |
|
Business and technology frameworks are the essential building blocks for complex, enterprise-wide, Internet-scale systems that drive successful businesses today.
Frameworks save development time and costs because components that handle common functionalities are already built into them. They enable companies to quickly deploy new applications and speed time-to-market. Frameworks are reusable and extensible and can be domain or technology-specific.
Mastek’s business frameworks are a product of years of building applications that solve our customers’ business problems. They encapsulate reusable components, templates, UI wrappers and code blocks that have stood the test of time. Each implementation enriches our framework with new learning. Our offerings include:
Elixir – Mastek’s Insurance Solution Framework
Elixir is the product framework developed specifically for the life and pensions industry. It enables insurance companies to efficiently administer and launch new products, reduce costs and grow market share.
Key features include straight-through processing (STP), choice of product wrappers, investment vehicles, equity dealing platform, ‘A-Day’ readiness and a strong workflow backbone.
Elixir Case Study
Mastek’s Elixir claims solution rationalized a Fortune 1000 financial services company’s disparate systems by creating a single view, enabling unified claims processing across product lines.
Insurance SDK – developed for general insurance (along with our partner e-Policy Solutions)
This enables speedy software development, allowing developers to focus on customer-specific business issues while leaving standard insurance functionality implementation to the Insurance SDK.
J2EE Frameworks
Mastek’s expertise in Enterprise Java Beans components, Java Servlets API, Java Server Pages and XML provide strength to our J2EE expertise. Mastek has built extensions layered above the standard J2EE stack, and has used variants of these frameworks in its engagements. These include:
- JSPX, a Web UI generation framework, allowing developers to rapidly develop JSP pages. Mastek has also developed an Eclipse IDE extension for JSPX
- Mastek has developed its own framework based on the MVC design pattern and has used it in engagements for insurance customers
- Mastek has developed a specialized security component (`Rakshak’) for validating data submitted to interactive Web applications to curtail the threat from attacks based on malformed content
