According to one definition, Corporate Social Responsibility is “achieving commercial success in ways that honour ethical values and respect people, communities and the natural environment”. A company should aim to go beyond the narrow confines of the quarterly report and the bottom line. It must view its relationships with shareholders and stakeholders -- customers, employees, government, community groups and suppliers -- in a wider social and ethical context.
CSR is one of the pillars of good governance for any business enterprise. It is an integral part of business strategy and should permeate throughout the organisation and across supply chains.
Mastek takes its corporate social responsibility very seriously.
Our stakeholders can be visualised as a hexagon that is exerting competing pressures. The hexagon is made up of customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders/ investors, government and the environment/ community. At its centre is the Mastek Board, comprising four independent directors and four promoter directors.
