Mastek eyes domestic market for growth.

Jaipur: The Rs 965-crore software services Mastek Limited is eyeing domestic market in a big way. Mastek Limited non executive director Ashank Desai  told ET that the domestic demand will push software services companies for local delivery.

“At present our revenue portfolio comprises less than 5% business from Indian market. We aim to increase this pie in double digits. We expect our domestic business to contribute 25-30% of the total revenue by 2025,” he said.

The company is betting big on e-governance initiatives of central and various state governments. “We have been closely working with 9 states in the field of tax administration, public distribution, prison management, education and health care. We would be partnering more states in these areas to expand our footprints. The government vertical contributes 40-45% of the total domestic revenue,” he said.

Mastek’s overseas experience with US and UK government e governance projects would come handy in its Indian operations. “We work with a strategic partner on a large number of UK government assignments and in the US with the world’ largest e-government solutions providers. We have successfully completed the London Congestion Charging project and has also been awarded a 10-year contract with the UK’s National Health Service,” he said.

The company is also focusing on power and insurance sectors to increase its penetration in the domestic market. “In power sector Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programme (R-APDRP) itself has a big potential. Rajasthan alone is spending Rs 500 crore on this programme. We are equally bullish on insurance sector. Our insurance enterprise platform – Elixir – caters to the needs of 8 out of the top 20 global and life annuity companies. With the possibility of a raising FDI in insurance sector to 49% from the current level of 26%, we expect a major growth in this segment,” says Vilas Kanyal, Mastek head – India, Asia Pacific and Middle East.
