The Connexions Card project is UK government program to encourage young British school students to continue studying beyond their compulsory schooling. As part of the program, students were awarded points for school attendance. The attendance was tracked through a smart card. Mastek built the application to capture attendance records from the smart card and transfer it to the central processing system. The project covered over a million students across 1000 schools in the UK. The Mastek application interfaced with over 100 partner applications. Despite the complexity, Mastek delivered the project within the short timeline of five months. In fact, the program was launched before its deadline.
