Business Context
More than ever before, healthcare organizations require a single view of financial data across their health delivery systems to improve services, reduce cost of care, and build a more responsive supply chain.
Our client is a premium healthcare network that operates out of the United Arab Emirates. With four multi-specialty hospitals, four specialty centers, nine medical centers, and more than 350 highly qualified doctors, it serves the needs of patients in primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary care.
The Situation
A compelling need for an integrated inventory and more efficient financial information system
Our client wanted to transform its legacy hospital information system (HIS) applications for higher efficiency of patient care, standardize its inventory processes and introduce effective audit control mechanisms such as seamless inventory management and billing system.
The Solution
Creating a modern and adaptable inventory & financial system
Mastek was selected as the healthcare network’s strategic partner due to its excellent track record as their Oracle implementation partner.
We implemented Oracle Financials Cloud and Oracle Inventory Cloud to empower our client with a modern, and adaptable finance system. The following applications were deployed on a service-oriented architecture (SOA) middleware to enable rapid reusability and interoperability.
- Oracle Financials Cloud (AP, AR, FA, CM, GL)
- Oracle Supply Chain Cloud (PO, SSP, Inventory)
Additionally, we provided a seamless integration between Oracle Fusion and TrakCare (HIS application). We also standardized their inventory and streamlined the process for consignment orders.
Mastek used their proprietary Glide framework and ADOPT (Advisory, Design, Orchestrate, Prepare, Transition) methodology for the Oracle implementation. This ensured an automated and seamless integration without errors and thus minimized rework, and customized roles and access for efficient reporting and inquiry access without incurring additional license cost.
The Results
- Ensures inventory accuracy. It automates the updating of inventory records and provides real-time data across all warehouses. This helps businesses to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
- Automating the inventory records helps to reduce labor costs associated with manually tracking inventory and also eliminates the potential for human error. Additionally, the real-time data provided by the system allows businesses to quickly identify any discrepancies in inventory levels, reducing the amount of time it takes to close the financial period and therefore saving money.
- Plus, with the seamless integration with TrakCare HIS, the healthcare network could effortlessly achieve the interface of 40,000 HIS transactions to Oracle Fusion on a daily basis.
