The Challenge

Selected Mastek to deliver two key processes, the Biometric Residence Permit and the Biometric Travel Document components of the core IPT Programme infrastructure which comprised:

  • SSB (Shared Service Bus), a software component supporting communication between immigration and enforcement systems
  • CDP (Common Data Platform), a single data platform addressing various data sharing needs of the Home Office and other government departments.
  • Optimise performance and improve process efficiency
  • Unify data and generate a single source of truth to upgrade reporting and overall visibility
  • Create a seamless authentication experience and add a security layer while accessing cloud applications
  • Ensure the ability to navigate future challenges with flexibility, scalability and agility

The Solution

Our team took a fresh approach to develop Putnam’s overall data strategy and helped the firm decide to implement Snowflake on AWS to replace their on-premises data lake built on Cloudera’s Distribution of Hadoop platform. As part of the consulting engagement, the team worked hand-in-hand with Putnam’s data architecture team to redesign and built a data warehouse with Snowflake on AWS. The firm was able to leverage our organization’s pre-built frameworks to accelerate the migration significantly.
