They were looking for a System Implementation partner that can support end-to-end Oracle Cloud Implementation to ensure that their back office operates under one umbrella from a solution point of view. They became the first public sector organisation in the UK to go-live on end-to-end Oracle Integrated Cloud Suite including Oracle Cloud Local Government Payroll.

The Situation

Need for a comprehensive Cloud-based HCM system to integrate and automate HR processes.

The Amana Group was looking to implement a Cloud-based HCM system to accomplish effective change management on major HR policies and automate the integration of payroll.

This called for a transformation of their HCM systems to integrate core HR operations, recruitment and workforce management processes, absence management records and payroll inputs.

A UK government department has a back-end tidal protection system, built using accurate and reliable data from the UK’s largest network of tidal stations. They need to make this prediction capability available as an API to developers across the UK using a subscription (paid and free) model.

What we did

We supplied a multidisciplinary team, including architects, service designers and user researchers.

Through a series of targeted technical and service design workshops, we delved into strategic areas that promised significant potential outcomes, as well as those with relatively smaller impact but more straightforward solutions. Throughout the process, we maintained an ongoing feedback loop with the teams, facilitating adjustments and refinements as needed.

We also conducted in-depth user research with commissioners and GP practice managers, data analysis and an expert infrastructure review to understand and map the ‘as is’ ecosystem, and to identify pain points and opportunities. 

We used this baseline to propose three options that address infrastructure issues, user needs and business needs. Our recommendations included an ideal future state as well as transitional models to enable an informed approach to decision-making by the client. 

The Outcome

A modern, efficiently integrated and unified HR system

The successful implementation of Oracle Cloud HCM system enabled the Amana Group to achieve the following outcomes on-time:

  • Saved £4.5m annually by rationalising working space and reduced 14 office buildings to just 2 

  • 45% reduction in the manual journal entry 

  • 18% reduction in the commercial supplier database size

The diligence of our payroll team ensured that all employees’ salaries were processed accurately, and all payments settled on time. The team worked overtime to ensure that the payroll process was completed on schedule.
