Challenge
The customer faced significant challenges after upgrading to Oracle Fusion, including difficulties in reporting on historical costing information and tracking changes to ingredient quantities and costs. To address these issues, they required precise cost data for ingredients and recipes across multiple airport locations, as well as integration with their Point-of-Sale (POS) software to generate accurate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports and insightful profitability analytics. The key challenge was designing a sophisticated data pipeline to unify disparate systems and provide actionable insights. To achieve this, a robust architecture was developed, leveraging Oracle Fusion BICC, Python, and Airflow to extract raw data into a Redshift Data Warehouse and transform it into actionable BI reports for in-depth cost analysis.

Mastek harnessed Oracle’s Business Intelligence Cloud Connector (BICC) to extract the company’s critical catalog and cost data, designing a flexible solution that seamlessly exports information to Amazon Redshift Database.
This approach delivered granular cost insights, precise unit conversions, and flexible reporting, all within a scalable framework that integrates effortlessly with third-party systems, including POS.
